Is it weird to tell a guy that you like him?? (help guys!!)?

There's this guy that I have had a crush on for the longest time. We have been hanging out a lot lately and having a lot of fun! However I am getting mixed signals. According to a few of his friends he likes me but I'm not sure. He hasn't made a move yet. But I'm told that's cause he's shy? Whenever we hang he also pays, opens the car door, etc. But he is also just a gentleman like that. We usually text everyday but the past few days we haven't. It's driving me crazy not knowing if he likes me or not. Because he's shy I feel the only way to know is to tell him I like him and see his response. Is that weird? And how should I tell him??
