Ok yes..a little desperate..help!!!?

Hi everyone. to make a long story short i approached this guy who it thought was cute. he seems like the shy non conversational type..and i told him i'm interested in getting to know him as a person. he said hes ok with being friends and i said the same..but obviously i like him. so we said wed keep in touch thru fb but he hasnt really made the effort to talk to me. small chat here and there, but nothing substantial. how do i ask him why he doesnt like me? i wanna get down to the bottom of this! how do i go about not sounding desperate for an answer? or should i just be straightfordward? im just scared i wont get a good response or a response at all.
