I had my nipple twisted by a friend and now it's always hard.what happened and how do I fix it?

it's quite embarrassing. I've tried pressing it to flatten it out and it doesnt work. I've also tried to pull the skin away from the nipple since it feels like it's just flesh. I appreciate serious responses.
